Description
Next stop we will visit an elderly "Casona" a beautiful old house that belonged to 3 former presidents of Costa Rica... We will then Board a covered motor boat for a 2-hour ride down the slow moving Tempisque River. Be on the look out and ready to shot those one-of-a-kind photos. The mangrove swaps and the marshy lagoons provide a welcoming habitat and nesting ground to the greatest concentration of waterfowl and shorebirds in Central America. Over 300 bird species including the black-crowned night herons, jabirus stork, spoonbills, egrets, ibis, grebes, black-bellied tree ducks, scarlet macaws, keel-billed toucans and parrots have been recorded.
Enjoy of some of our most precious traditions such as the "ox-operated sugar mill" (trapiche) where they grind the cane with oxen. Freshly cane juice will be offered to you to taste.
A traditional family style Costa Rican meal with a natural fruit beverage is included after your riverboat ride.
